O escritor
norte-americano Jerome David Salinger, autor de “O Apanhador no Campo de
Centeio” morreu hoje, segundo a Associated Press. Ele tinha 91 anos e vivia em
Cornish, nos Estados Unidos. Segundo a Associated Press, o autor morreu de causas naturais em sua casa.
Caulfield está para a
literatura assim como James Dean em Juventude Trans-viada
(1955) está para o cinema. Publicado em 1951, “O Apanhador no Campo de
Centeio” se tornou o trabalho mais famoso do escritor. A obra mostra os
acontecimento na vida do adolescente Holden Caulfield - que deixa o colégio perto do Natal – durante
48 horas.
Desde 1965, ano que público
a novela “Hapworth 16, 1924″, Salinger não publicava nenhum novo
trabalho e vivia em isolamente quase total – recluso do mundo literário e da mídia.
