Você só está lendo este post por causa de uma experiência bem-sucedida ocorrida há 41 anos atrás. O feito? Dois computadores remotos conseguiram trocar dados através de uma rede batizada de Arpanet. Tempos depois, o sistema foi desenvolvido e resultou na internet.
A intenção do Departamento de Defesa dos Estados Unidos ao inventar a Arpanet era deter um sistema de armazenamento de dados que resistisse a uma eventual guerra nuclear, algo que fazia muito sentido nos tempos paranoicos da Guerra Fria. Saiba mais aqui.
