Coca-Cola embalada em papel?

Esqueça as consagradas curvas da garrafa de Coca-Cola. Pelo menos para o estudante chinês Andrew Seunghyun Kim, a nova geração de embalagens de refrigerantes deveria ser uma caixinha estilo Longa Vida, mas 100% feita a partir da cana de açúcar – ou seja, orgânica. Kim batizou o projeto desenvolvido para o segundo semestre da faculdade de Design de Eco Coke.

Se sua ideia fosse acatada, o número de 200 milhões de garrafas plásticas descartadas a cada 5 minutos nos Estados Unidos se reduziria consideravelmente. A pegada de carbono do transporte das bebidas também seria menor. Por se acomodarem melhor uma do lado da outra, é possível levar 27% mais caixinhas do que garrafas em um mesmo container.

Atualmente, 3 milhões de garrafas de Coca são vendidas por dia e enviadas em navios para o mundo todo. Com o novo design, é como se 857.142 garrafas a mais pudessem ser enviadas por dia – ou 321.856.830 por ano – sem nenhuma emissão extra de carbono.

Não dá para dizer que o projeto é exatamente sustentável, mas que o impacto dos fabricantes e consumidores de refrigerantes seria menor, isso não dá para negar.
